Extremea – A photoset

// May 9th, 2008 // View Comments // Flickr, photography

This is a fun little shoot I have to share with you today. This shoot is based on a scene in the movie Paranoid Park. I never know what to expect from a Gus Van Sant movie, and this one really held my attention. I saw the movie on a Tuesday. The next day I get a call from a woman who wants to work with me. I told her that I was thinking about trying to bring the scene I saw in the movie into a photo, and she was totally onboard. So that Friday I found myself in bathroom with her in my shower. This looks like an easy shoot, but keep in mind that her eyes are open while under the running water. She did an excellent job helping me achieve my goal. Once we go what we wanted we just goofed around and went on to get some more great shots.

In the Moment
Diving into my treasure chest of rare, raw, and pictures that don’t fit into any particular category I was more than pleasantly surprised to find this amazing candid shot of Alex. During a product shoot for a hip hop band, I caught Alex in between outfits. As she was facing away from me the light on her back was incredible. She turned slightly and I took this picture.

And yes, there is a print available here.

BFR Series – Photoshoot

BFR Series - 18 of 20I often take for granted the ease the working relationship is between Alexandra Rodionova and I. These pictures are a direct result of that comradery. If you where an onlooker on a shoot with Alex and I you would wonder why we hardly talk when we’re right in the middle of taking pictures. Well, we don’t need to communication, “stand this way, look that way, etc”. We know each others every move. Thus is the benefit of working with a muse.
Alas, these days must come to an end. After 5 years of working together Alex is going her own way. So all I have now are there archived photo shoots to share. I’m sure once in awhile we’ll team up again…
…in the mean time I guess I’m in the market for a new muse!

Please include head shots and full body shots. hehe
