Best of Ottawa Readers Poll 2007

// October 26th, 2007 // View Comments // News, music

The Ottawa Xpress has finally acknowledged the existence of a much ignored musician here in Canada’s capital, by including Lindsay Ferguson in their “Best of 2007 Ottawa” Survey!!
There are a couple of Categories that I think Lindsay’s new Album ‘Sound‘ should have been included in & they are as follows: Best Rock/Pop/Dance/Other Album & Best New Musical Artist or Group. I know she’s not “new” but she sort of is, now that Lindsay has her new album ‘Sound‘ out people are starting to create a buzz!!
Also there is a “Best Live Show in 2007″ category & seeing as Lindsay had a record-breaking attendance for her Cd Release Party, I thought it too could be classified as a “Best of”…
The one that Lindsay is up for is “Best Folk/Country Album” so be sure to check her name on that one.
Another close friend of mine, Rob Mclennan is also up for a ‘Best of…” for his writing in the fiction/non-fiction/poetry work.
All of the categories have an “other” box, where I suggest you fill in whenever necessary.
SO! lets get Lindsay Ferguson on the map in the “BEST OF 2007″ for the Ottawa Xpress!
And yes, many thanks in advance for taking the time to fill the survey out.
Please continue…

Lindsay’s new Album “Sound” is available on iTunes.
Rob’s writings can found on Chaudere Books.

Missing CDs, Found!

// October 16th, 2007 // View Comments // News

Lindsay Ferguson’s missing CDs have been found! This is what Lindsay had to say about the ordeal.
“…well they, and my 92 van were found!!! the cd’s weren’t stolen but my stereo was!! not to mention all the damage that the thieves did to the van…. it’s in the garage as we speak. There were MANY people who came to my aid with this issue… I am so grateful to have such a great support network, even people I’ve never met before… thanks Lynn Saxberg for writing a column about it in The Ottawa Citizen, & thanks to Colin Mills at Healey Disc for offering to replace the stolen Cd’s. Big Love goes out to you all.”

Bring Back the Sound!

// October 10th, 2007 // View Comments // News

Lindsay Ferguson - SoundOn Monday, October 8th, a very good friend of mine, Lindsay Ferguson, suffered a great loss. Lindsay, an independent self supporting musician, had 500 copies of her new CD ‘Sound’ stolen. The CDs where in Lindsay’s signature white beat up van, so the thieves probably didn’t even know the CDs where in the back. The real tragedy of this all was that like most struggling musicians, Lindsay is holding down 3, (yes three), waitress jobs trying to pay back the loan she had to take out to make the new CD. So the deal is now she just wants the CDs back. The van is a write off. Anyone, or people, knowing anything about where the CDs might be, (cause it’s hard to hide 500 CDs), please contact manager@lindsayferguson.com. Lindsay has guaranteed me that not only will she not press charges if the CDs are returned, but that she’ll be 100% anonymous with the entire matter.
